SERVICE UPDATE:
A gathering of family and friends to Celebrate Wilma's life will take place on Saturday April 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Abundant Life Assembly of God -1502 Fisher Avenue, Warsaw.
Wilma Richardson, age 84, of Claypool, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital Warsaw, Indiana.
Wilma was born March 1, 1939 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to (the late) Edward “Eddie” Yates and Elzira (Marshall) Yates. She was united in marriage to William “Bev” Richardson, sharing 60 years together prior to his passing.
Wilma was a retired bus driver for the Warsaw Schools for the handicap. She enjoyed shopping, especially the shops in Shipshewana. She was involved in the Halloween Cookouts, enjoyed traveling, camping, and she cherished the gatherings with her family and friends. Wilma’s favorite car was the Cadillac, and her favorite type of music was the old Kentucky country music. She was a member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge #1423.
Survivors include daughter Cathy (George) Shepherd of Claypool; sister Phyllis (Gary) Beane of Rochester; brother, William “Bub” (Judy) Yates of Palestine; 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and 20 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband “Bev”, she was preceded in death by, 2 sons Tim and Rob Richardson, 3 brothers Ronnie Yates, Willard Yates and Terry Yates and a sister, Thelma Black.
