William Hofherr

William R. “Bill” Hofherr, age 79, of Lake Tippecanoe, Leesburg, IN passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 4:43 PM in his residence. He was born March 22, 1934 in Yorktown, IN to Marion and Minnie Hester (McKinley) Hofherr. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army as an Sp3 (T) Military Policeman with Company B 728th MP Battalion from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. On August 21, 1959 he was united in marriage to Janet Lingle in Muncie, IN. Janet preceded him on September 16, 2006. After many years of service he retired from Indiana-Michigan Electric as a Supervisor. He was a Tippecanoe Lake, IN resident since 1985 and member of the Syracuse American Legion Post# 223. He is survived by a son Brian Scott (spouse Donna Gail) Hofherr of Atwood, IN; a daughter Karla (spouse John) Drudge of Warm Springs, GA: sisters Nancy Reynolds of Bradenton, FL and Mary Lou Witty of Yorktown, IN. In addition to his wife a daughter Jane Ellen Kinzer on August 7, 2012, 4 brothers and 2 sisters also preceded him. Graveside Services will be on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Hawk Cemetery, Yorktown, IN. No calling is planned. McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, IN is entrusted with the services.
