A Celebration of life will be held at Dutchtown Brethren Church, 4057 E. 300 N. Warsaw, IN on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jack Worth officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Wendel C. Gregory, 95, of Jones/Union, Michigan, peacefully passed away in his home on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 10:38 AM with his family at his side. Formerly from Oswego, Indiana, Wendel was born on March 1, 1925 in Westmoreland, Tennessee to Olie H. and Annie F. (Williams) Gregory. Wendel proudly served his country with a WWII Victory Medal in the U.S. Army 48th Field Artillery Battalion with an Honorable Discharge in 1947. He then enlisted into the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict with the 803 Motor Vehicle Squadron and Air Base Group with an Honorable Discharge in 1953. Wendel married Ollie Jean Brown in June of 1951: who preceded him in death in October 1987. In January of 1991 he was united into marriage with Sylvia Cloud who survives. He retired from the United Telephone Company in 1985 to enjoy his love of hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw. Wendel leaves behind his loving wife, Sylvia, of Jones/Union, MI; daughters, Linda (Larry) McCleary of Warsaw, IN, Brenda (Ken “Bambi”) Collins of Leesburg, IN, sons; Matthew (Rhonda) Cloud, Mark (Debra) Cloud both of Michigan, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, 3 brothers, and a sister. Celebration of life will be held at Dutchtown Brethren Church, 4057 E. 300 N. Warsaw, IN on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jack Worth officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements for the family are entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude PL Memphis, TN 38105-9959
