Wanda J. Simison, 71, went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 25, 2023, with her hand held tightly by her husband, Rick.
Wanda was born in Warsaw, Indiana on February 2, 1952 to Curtis and Martha “Ruthann” (Hale) Allen. She graduated from Warsaw High School with the class of 1970.
Since 7th grade, Wanda had been friends with a local boy, Rick Simison. They would become a couple in 1983 and wed on June 2, 1984 in the former Church of God in Warsaw. They would cherish 43 years together.
Wanda worked as a clerk for Jet White Grocery Store, Owen’s Supermarket, Marsh Supermarket and JCPenney. She then was the store manager for the Party Shop for 15 years before her retirement in 2018.
She adored waking up to bright, sunny days. It made her loving heart even bigger. Wanda was a quiet but devout Christian who attended the Church of God until its closing and then the First Christian Church in Warsaw.
Wanda and Rick traveled all the lower 48 states, bowled in the Tuesday and Thursday Senior League, and played euchre one night a month with fellow church members.
She is missed dearly by her husband, Rick of Warsaw; children: Chad King of Elkhart and Troy King of Warsaw; step-children: Faith (Ian) Pence of Greensboro, IN, Ron Simison of Indianapolis and Echo Tingler of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Curtis, Cara, Cassandra, Austin, Autumn; step-grandchildren: Zachary, Aiden, Evan, Edrick, Tiffany, Neo, Kylie, Ben and Chandler; great-grandchildren: Adalyn, Carter, Jayce, Aiden, Jade and Kinsley; and siblings: Linda Allen of Warsaw and Ron (Marty) Allen of Lagro, IN.
