Walter D. Church

Walter D. Church, age 86, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Walt was born on January 9, 1933 in Hartford, Indiana to William and Maida (Anguish) Church. He was united in marriage to Connie L. Gentry on November 7, 1956 in Warsaw, Indiana. He was a resident of Warsaw for 65 years. Walt was employed with Gable Construction in Warsaw. He was the Co-Owner of Anguish & Church Construction, Lakeview Sharpening Service since 1974. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #49, Warsaw; member of Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals from 1993 thru 2018, and a participant in the Veterans Honor Flight May 2016. Walt proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 – 1954. Walter is survived by wife, Connie Church, of Warsaw, IN; children, Cathy (Chris) Lauster, of Ft. Wayne, IN, Greg (Diane) Church, of Warsaw, IN; one grandchild, Hope (Jeff) Matchett, of Ft. Wayne, IN. He was preceded in death by brother, Thomas Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019 in the funeral chapel with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow at North Webster Cemetery Mock Addition.
