Virginia D. Myers, 85, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday April 5, 2026 at Brickyard Nursing Facility in Elkhart.
Born in Middle Creek, Kentucky, Viriginia was the daughter of Carrie E. and Laura E. (Fugitt) Burke. She graduated from Pierceton High School.
In Warsaw, Indiana on May 1, 1960, Virginia married Robert “Bob” Myers and would welcome two children.
A devoted housewife and mother, she was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and Explorers. When the children were grown and out of the house, Virginia then began selling Avon and later working as a cashier for Kroger. She was a member of the Lions Club Eye Bank, the Ladies Axillary Post #49, and Country Bible Church of North Webster.
Virginia was a spunky spitfire with a quick wit. She was extremely loving and was the family glue. She enjoyed sharing her hobbies of gardening, baking, canning, embroidery, knitting and crocheting with her family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her children: John Myers of Elkhart and Michelle Somers of North Webster; grandchildren: Forest (Alisha) Somers of North Webster, Sasha Somers of Richmond, IN and Uriah Myers of New Castle; great-grandchildren: Savahanna, Kaidan, Dominik, Gabriel, Ameila and Xaiden.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2022, her parents, grandson Brenden Somers, brothers: Charles, Paul, Douglas, John and Malcolm and sisters, Addie Mae, Anna Lee and Esther.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 from 12-3 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Chris Frank officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
