Virginia Carole Brandenburg

November 26, 1942 — November 15, 2024

Virginia “Carole” Brandenburg, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday November 15, 2024 at 11:55 p.m. at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne.

Carole was born on November 26, 1942 in Williamson, West Virginia to Albert and Edith (Alley) Hubbard. She graduated from Prestonsburg High School in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.

She married Emery J. Brandenburg on December 15, 1962. Carole was a stay-at-home mom until her children got older. She always made sure they got to their sporting and school events, was their biggest supporter, and had a sit-down family dinner made every night. Carole then began working as a special needs teacher for Warsaw Community Schools for over 28 years, until her retirement.

Carole had a strong faith in God and was a member of Living Hope Ministries in Warsaw. There she went to Wednesday night Bible classes, loved attending the church picnics and was in charge of the Welcome Cards Ministry. She had a beautiful voice, loved to sing, and enjoyed raising her hand in church to come up to the front and lead songs of praise. Carole always had a joke to tell and got the giggles from teasing her preacher about his sports team, because she knew Notre Dame was better than Michigan.

She had a strict routine to play euchre no less than 3 times a week, and she also enjoyed reading a good book. Carole loved spending time with her husband, siblings and in-laws, and their favorite trips were to Branson, Missouri. She was very caring and loved her children and grandchildren very much, always putting others needs before her own.

Carole is survived by her children: Ron (deceased) (Katrina) Brandenburg, Warsaw, Bambi (Scott) Maggard, North Manchester and Chad (Barb) Brandenburg, Elkhart; step-children: Brenda Ayala, Indianapolis, JoAnn (Mike) Ball, Warsaw, and Tammy Brandenburg, Florida; grandchildren: Lindsey, Courtney, Cara, Cameron, Chase and Brittney and 8 great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her siblings: Jim (Susie) Hubbard and Terry Hubbard.

She was preceded in death by her husband Emery in 2018; her parents; her son Ron; and siblings, Doris Ann Wallen and Albert Hubbard Jr.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw; with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Hedgel Perry will officiate the funeral service.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Memorials may be made to: Living Hope Youth Group, 595 East CR 350 N, Warsaw, Indiana, 46580.
