Virginia C. “Ginnie” Fretz, 71 of Winona Lake, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 4:20 a.m. in Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on June 20, 1944 to Taylor R. and Dorothy V. (Miles) Horne in Minnie, Kentucky. She was united in marriage on June 11, 1978 to Phillip Fretz in Bourbon, Indiana. Virginia moved from Kentucky to Kenton, Ohio in 1964 then to Winona Lake, Indiana in 1981. She graduated from American School, Chicago, Illinois and attended IPFW for 4 years. She was a Qualified Medication Aide, Certified Nurse’s Assistant and housekeeper for years, at Prairie View Nursing Home, Grace Village Health Care, Miller’s Merry Manor and Mason Health & Rehabilitation Center all of Warsaw, Indiana. She retired in 1991 with a total of 40 years. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Warsaw, Indiana. She loved her cats, collecting dolls, an avid NASCAR fan, Genealogy and going to the Grand Olé Opry. Virginia is survived by her husband, Phillip Fretz of Winona Lake, Indiana; sisters, Peggy Sue Worsham, Cora Annette Horne both of Warsaw, Indiana, Vickie (and spouse Kenneth Sr.) Fulford of Martinsville, Indiana, Sandra Lue (and spouse Ruben) Hicks of Kendallville, Indiana and Lois Eichelberger and a brother Jimmy D. Horne both of Warsaw, Indiana. A special friend, Karen (and spouse Stephen) Frantz of Warsaw, Indiana, several nieces and nephews and her precious cat “Katie”. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Taylor “Tom” Horne Jr., 4 sisters, Patricia Copland, Sharon Kay, Margi Ellen and Barb Horne. Visitation will be held on Saturday January 2, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana, a funeral service will follow  at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Reverend Jack Worth officiating. Burial will be in Summit Chapel Cemetery, Bourbon, Indiana. The family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to  American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals c/o ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC, 20090- 6929. or World Wide Work of Jehovah Witness c/o Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483.
