Violet Louise Sponseller, age 93, of Leesburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 4:15 AM in Grace Village Health Care. She was born on January 9, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ernest Barth and Bertha (Chubb) Wolfe. On October 3, 1942 she was united in marriage to Russell Roy Sponseller in Warsaw. Violet moved to the Kosciusko County area from LaPorte in 1964. During her life, she and her husband owned and operated Dog-N-Suds on Winona Avenue. She also worked at Hooks Drugstore. She was a Lambda Chi Omega member as well as a member at the Moose Lodge #1423. She enjoyed crocheting and making dolls for her grandkids. An evening out dancing was always a fun time with Violet. She loved her dog; Heidi and most of all she loved and cherished her family dearly. She is survived by her children; Russell L. Sponseller of Ossian, IN, Caroline Sue (Harry) Wittig of Leesburg, Diana Kay Allen of Leesburg, Peggy Jo (Ronald) Campbell of Warsaw, Janet Lee (Kevin) Kinney of Leesburg, Jo Ellen (Troy) Dirck of Warsaw, sisters; Betty Vanscoik and Wilma Tobey, 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband; Russell Roy Sponseller in November of 2003, 2 daughters; Patricia Ann Holle and Sandra Lynn Fiedeke, and 7 siblings. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10:00 AM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Rob Seewald will officiate the Funeral Service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
