Terrance S. “Terry” Ashburn, Pierceton, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on April 26,1944, in Alameda, California, Terry grew up to serve his country and community with distinction and dedication.
A proud veteran, Terry enlisted in the United States Army, achieving the rank of SP5 before receiving an honorable discharge in 1973. Following his military service, he resumed his career with General Motors in the Dayton, Ohio area, where he was a respected tool maker for 48 years.
Terry attended Chaminade High School in Dayton, Ohio and remained active in various hobbies throughout his life. An avid golfer and fisherman, he also had a passion for tinkering with cars and electronics. In his younger days, Terry was an enthusiastic cyclist and marathon runner.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Robin Ashburn of Pierceton, Indiana; daughter Lisa Yakout of Maine; and sister Karen Shanahan of Massachusetts.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry C. Ashburn and Nell V. (Jones) Ashburn.
Terry’s legacy of dedication and service will be remembered by all who knew him.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday July 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw, Indiana.
