Ted Carringer

Ted Carringer, 79 of Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at 5:40 am Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake. On June 2, 1937, he was born in Hayesville, North Carolina to Tom and Kitty (Jenkins) Carringer. He was united in marriage to Sarah Ellen Chastain, who preceded him in death. Ted has lived in Kosciusko County for the past seven years. He worked as a coal miner.   Ted was a member of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, Akron, Indiana and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (and spouse Jim) Ellis, Warsaw; his son, Gary Carringer, Knoxville, Tennessee; two brothers, Edger (and spouse Kathy) Carringer, Ellijay, Georgia, T.C. Carringer, Ellijay, Georgia and one grandson, Grant Carringer, Ellijay, Georgia. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, three brothers and three sisters. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, June 24, 2016 in Martin-Wilson Funeral Home, LaFollette, Tennessee with Reverend David Goins officiating. Burial will be in Adkins Cemetery, Scott County, Tennessee. Visitation hours will be from 1:00 -3:00 pm Friday, June 24, 2016 in Martin-Wilson Funeral Home, LaFollette, Tennessee. Local arrangements were entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
