Suzan Lynn Higgins

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Suzan Lynn Higgins, 63, of Warsaw, IN on Monday, August 3, 2026, at her residence.

Born in Warsaw on June 28, 1963, Suzy was the beloved daughter of Richard “Dick” Higgins and Mary (Davis) Higgins. After graduating from Warsaw Community High School in 1981, she spent time working as a flight attendant, among other jobs. She then went on to earn her LPN and had a career in nursing and as a paramedic that spanned more than twenty years. Both jobs highlighted her caring nature and dedication to helping others. Suzy also worked for her family’s fish fry business, Original Jonah Fish Fry, for decades. Most recently, she worked as a hostess at American Table where she had a positive impact not only on the patrons of the restaurant, but also on her co-workers.

Suzy had a genuine love of the outdoors, and one of her favorite places in the world was at her family’s ranch in Wyoming. She spent many summers at the ranch and enjoyed being in nature, especially in the mountains. Suzy also loved travelling to Florida to visit extended family, and keeping in touch with them through phone calls, letters, and emails was very important to her.

Another of her great joys was helping animals in need. She had a heart for rescuing dogs, and throughout her life had owned horses, dogs, and cats, all of which she cared for deeply.

Suzan will be remembered by her son, Joshua B. (Kylie) Higgins of Warsaw; brother, David E. (Amy) Higgins of Winona Lake; nephew, Benjamin E. (Jessica) Higgins of Colorado, and a great-niece, Winona E. Higgins, of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation in honor of Suzan at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, on Saturday August 22, 2026, from 2-4:00 pm with services beginning at 4:00 pm in the chapel. Burial for the family will be private.
