Susan K. Shepherd

Susan K. Shepherd, age 60, of Warsaw, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 3:30 a.m. in Warsaw, IN. Susan was born on December 13, 1958 in Rochester, IN to Kent R. and Barbara J. (LeCount) Riner. She was married to Carrey E. Shepherd on January 29, 1985 in Las Vegas, NV. They were married for 34 years. Susan was a graduate from Tippecanoe Valley H. S. in 1977. She continued her education at I.U. School of Nursing, graduating in 1981 as a registered nurse. Susan worked as a R.N. for Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw for over 20 years as well as numerous years as a County Health Nurse for Kosciusko County. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life and the joy of her heart. During her lifetime she enjoyed spending time with people in general. She was known to be an excellent cook. Susan’s passion was being a loving caregiver which included her fellow employees that she loved dearly. Susan is survived by husband Carrey, son; Kenton (Tasia) Shepherd of Warsaw, IN, stepson; Kenneth (Barry) Shepherd of Elkhart, IN, sister; Pamela (Rich) Herendeen of Avilla, IN, brother; Randel (Dana) Riner of Warsaw, IN, mother; Barbara Riner of Warsaw, IN, grandchildren; Gabe Shepherd, Bella Shepherd, and Ali Shepherd all of Warsaw, IN. She is preceded in death by her father, Kent Riner. A memorial service will take place at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer officiating.
