Susan Elnora Riggleman Brennan

Susan Elnora Riggleman Brennan, 86 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 6:15 am March 17, 2013 in Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw. On March 7, 1927, she was born in Piqua, Ohio to Samuel Harvey and Hazel Elsie Johnson Riggleman. She married Robert Edward Brennan on August 15, 1948 in Piqua, who preceded her in death in January of 1996. A resident of Warsaw since 1951, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. After thirty years at Brennan Pharmacy, Susan retired in 1991. She was a graduate of Central High School, Piqua, Ohio and received a Bachelor’s Degree in education from Manchester College. She also received a Real Estate License and an Associate Degree for Paralegal at Butler University. She and her husband, Bob, taught school in Lake Station (formerly East Gary), Connersville, Bloomington and Warsaw. She was a former writer for the South Bend Tribune and the Indianapolis Star. Her community activities included; past president of American Association of University Women, past president and past secretary of Clio Literary Club, member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, the Live and Learn Home Ec Club, Lakeland Art Association, Lakeland Community Concerts, Monthly Book Club, member of the Kosciusko County Historical Society, the Indiana Association and a former volunteer for the Historical Museum, Mobile Meals and the hospital. A housewife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by two children; a daughter, Patricia (Patsy) See, Zionsville and a son, James (Jim) Brennan, San Ramon, California. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kevin Martin See, Timothy Brennan See, Susannah Patricia See, Sean Patrick Brennan and Kelly Siobhan Brennan and a great-grandchild Robert See. She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. A funeral is will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw with Pastor Toni Carmer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Robert and Susan Brennan Scholarship, c/o Kosciusko County Foundation, 102 East Market Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 or to the donor’s choice.
