Steven A. Lozier, 71, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake.
Steve was born in Warsaw, Indiana on January 10, 1953 to Frederick A. and Lillian L. (Evans) Lozier. He played football in high school and graduated with the class of 1971. Steve attended Tri-State College.
He worked for Lozier & Son’s Excavating, Camden Construction, Motion Industries and lastly for Menards, before retiring. Steve attended the North Winona Church of the Brethren, being a very involved member, and the Warsaw Community Church.
If you asked his family to describe him, they would say “Uncle Buck.” He had a fun, social personality, and always wanted to be involved in entertaining. Steve tried to act strong, but he was a softy and had a huge heart. He adored his family with all his heart. He enjoyed time spent with them, going to family reunions, and was a nurturing soul for the young kids.
Steve enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre. He was on local race teams and helped build race cars. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed following the football drafts into the season, and enjoyed watching NASCAR. In the past on rainy days, he could be found at Breading’s playing dominos.
He is survived by his sister, Stacy Ritenhour of Warsaw; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Lozier of Warsaw and Dreama Lozier of Pierceton; nieces and nephews: A.J. (Gracia) Lozier & Rachelle “Shelly” (Jose) Rosario, both of Warsaw, Anthony, Brittany & Cameron Ritenour, all in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Dylan Ritenour of Bristol, Shaun (Brittney) Gardner of Leesburg, Adam (Montana) Gardner of Warsaw, Scott Gardner of Pierceton & Samuel Lozier of Pierceton; great-nieces and nephews: Lily, Aiden, Maddox & Warrick Lozier, Ella & Evie Gonzalez, Rocco Rosario, Keagan, Addison & Zoey Gardner, Helena & Eleanor Gardner and two great-great-nephews, Grayson and Parker.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lillian, and his brothers, Stanley Lozier & Samuel Lozier.
