Stephen D. Orr

Stephen D. Orr, age 71, of Madisonville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 5:23 p.m. in his residence. Stephen was born June 28, 1949 in Warsaw, Indiana to Herbert “Red” and Donna (Cole) Orr. He was united in marriage to Pamela (Gentis) Hanni on March 24, 1979 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a 1967 graduate of Pierceton High School and furthered his education obtaining a degree from Purdue University in 1972 as a Chemical Engineer. During his employment he held a position in Chemical & Process Engineering and as an Operations Manager. He spent his entire career with Rea Magnet Wire formerly known as Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire. Steve was known to be an expert mushroom hunter, gardener, Chef Extraordinaire, and Pinochle Card Shark. Stephen is survived by wife Pamela (Gentis) Orr, Madisonville, TN; sons, Lance and (Nicole) Hanni, Tennessee, and James Orr, Portland, OR; daughter, Carolina (Orr) and Keith Shelton, Shirley, IN; brother, Mike and Cathy Orr, Warsaw; sister, Debbie (Orr) and Steve Holbrook, Venice, FL. In addition, Steve is survived by grandchildren, Brenna Hanni, Collierville, TN, Rylan, Benjamin, and Elena Grace Shelton, Indianapolis, IN. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.to Noon on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately at 12:00 Noon at the funeral chapel with Lew Collier officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required.  The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged.
