Stella Baker, 65, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died on 9/6/2009 at 7:30 AM at Indiana University Medical Center Indianapolis, In. She was born on October 19, 1943 in Martin, Kentucky. Stella was born to Virgil and Lillie J. (Castle) Blair. She was a former longtime Pierceton, Indiana resident and also resided in Huntington, West Virginia and Fort Wayne, Indiana. On November 28, 1959 in Clintwood, West Virginia she was united in marriage to Jasper Baker. Jasper pre4ceded her in death in November of 2008. Stella was a former cashier for the Pierceton Truck Stop, Pierceton, Indiana and was also employed by Wash World of Warsaw, Indiana. She was a faithful member of Eastview Baptist Church of Huntington, West Virginia. Stella is survived by her loving family including her sons: Michael Joe Baker of Albion, Indiana; Terry DeWayne Baker of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Jeffery Derek Baker of South Whitley, Indiana. A step-daughter: Mrs. Eddie (Margaret Ann) Prater of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Her brother: Paul Blair of Warsaw, Indiana. Four sisters: Mrs. Betty Lewis of Pierceton, Indiana; Mrs. June Fields of Warsaw, Indiana; Mrs. Virgie Little of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Mrs. Gearldine Lafferty of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Stella was preceded by her hsuband two step-sons, two brothers, two sisters and one grand daughter. Pastor Jimmy Shepherd will officate the funeral service. Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw, Indiana on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Calling hours will be 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery - Pierceton, Indiana. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
