Scott Sleighter

September 13, 1925 — October 8, 2022

Scott Sleighter, 97, of Pierceton, died Saturday October 8, 2022 at Mason Health Care.


Scott was born in Warsaw on September 13, 1925, the son of (the late) Moody and Lillian (Bowen) Sleighter. He graduated from Pierceton High School with the Class of ’44 and on August 29, 1948, Scott married Norma Jean Sleighter, who preceded him in death on July 22, 1995 after 46 years of marriage. Scott was in the LP gas business for over 20 years; he enjoyed a lifetime of camping and after retirement assisted in managing the Pike Lake Campground. Scott was a member of the Pierceton Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the church choir for many years; he also served on the Pierceton Volunteer Fire Dept. for 43 years.


Scott is survived by his sons, Michael Sleighter and Richard Sleighter, both of Pierceton; grandson, Michael (Virginia) Sleighter of Pierceton; great-grandchildren, Bryson Seitner of Logansport and Marcella & Lillian Sleighter in Pierceton.


Funeral Services 11:00am Saturday October 15, 2022 at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, 105 S. First St. in Pierceton, with Rev. David Crowley officiating. Visitation is Saturday from 10-11am in the funeral home. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
