Samuel R. Reiff, 95, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City, IN.
Samuel was born on March 1, 1928 in Pierceton, Indiana to Ralph and Lillie (Wissler) Reiff. He attended Pierceton schools.
In Columbia City, Indiana on December 30, 1950, Sam married Geraldine “Gerry” Reiff. They would treasure 69 years of making memories before her passing in 2019.
Sam served in the U.S. Army and served as a medic and then as a Colonel’s driver when stationed in Germany. He was Honorably Discharged.
Sam could build anything out of nothing. He was skilled in many trades such as a farmer, a mechanic and in construction. Sam and Gerry ran and owned G & S Laundry in Pierceton for many years.
He knew every fishing hole in the area and loved trips to Wisconsin and Wyoming for fishing, hunting and family get-aways. He took pride in his immaculate lawn.
He is survived by his children: Tim Reiff of Warsaw, Laura Kuhn of Claypool, Linda Meza of Harvest, AL and Beth Reiff of Huntsville, AL; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gerry, his parents, and his siblings: Mary Shroyer, Josephine Wells, Bill Reiff and Robert Reiff.
Visitation will be from 10-12 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Mike Beezley officiating.
Burial will be in the North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.
