Sally Nichols, age 94, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 2:25 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital. She was born on January 28, 1925 in Kosciusko Co to Arwid E. and Helen J. (Richards) McConnell. She was married to Donald Lee Nichols, on November 27, 1949 in Warsaw. She was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1945-1946 as a storekeeper 3rd Harrisburg, PA Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. She was a Co-Owner of Nick & Joe’s T.V. Sales & Service from 1949-1987. Sally was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. She was a lifetime member of American Legion and Auxiliary Post#49, Recognized with The Order of Kosciusko 2010 for significant contributions to the community and country as well as veterans service organizations. She was also involved in the V.F.W. Auxiliary #1126, Anges Pruyn Chapman Chapter of the D.A.R., and Kosciusko Co, Historical Society. Sally is survived by daughters, Karen (Byron Nevills) Nye of LaPorte, IN, Lynne Christiansen of Warsaw; son, Stephen Nichols of Warsaw; grandchildren, Brett (Courtney) McDonald of Indianapolis, , Nathan (Kira Jenkins) Nye of South Bend; and 2 great grandchildren, Mekare and Marik Nye. She was preceded in death by husband of 64 years, Donald Nichols on July 18, 2014; sister, Jane Chinworth. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2020 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with the funeral service starting at 1:00 PM with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Military Honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post #49, Warsaw. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with her care. Memorial donations may be given to either First United Methodist Church 179 S Indiana St. Warsaw, IN 46580 OR Kosciusko Co. Historical Society 121 N Indiana St. Warsaw, IN 46580
