Ruth Shenefield

Ruth Carolyn (Robinson) Shenefield, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2022. She was born in Warsaw on November 24,1930, the youngest of six children born to Herbert and Ruth (Bolinger) Robinson.

Ruth graduated from Warsaw High School, Manchester College and the University of St. Francis. She married “the love of her life”, Vere Allen Shenefield on December 25, 1962. He preceded Ruth in death on September 11, 2017 after 54 years of marriage. She taught Kindergarten and McKinley and Lincoln Elementary Schools, until she retired to raise her family. A lifelong Warsaw resident, Ruth attended the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, where she was involved with the United Methodist Women, Sunday School coordinator/teacher and various councils & committees. Ruth was also a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her daughter, Gay Ann Mullins of Muncie; son, Todd (Christa) Shenefield of Warsaw; her grandchildren, Skyler (Michelle) Shenefield, Blayne (Quinn) Brow and Robinson Mullins; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Tanner, Brian, Kaiden, Piper and Emma (to be born in December). Ruth is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Gill of San Jose CA; nieces & nephews, Brian Gill, Dee Munson, Elain Call, Mike (Deb) Gilliam, Lisa Garrett, Jill Shenefield and Sheila Gill. In addition to her parents and Vere, Ruth was also preceded in death by siblings and their spouses, Angus Cameron Robinson, Herberta & Gael Munson, Marguerite & Fred Gilliam, Elizabeth & George Plew, Robert Gill, and nephews, Bruce Gill, Tony Munson and Jay Shenefield.

Visitation will be from 11-1 Saturday October 29, 2022 at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Ct. followed by Graveside Service at 1:00 in Oakwood Cemetery, 421 N. Maple Ave. The family’s preferred memorial is First United Methodist Church, 179 S. Indiana St, Warsaw IN 46580.
