Rosalee Spear

WARSAW- Rosalee J. Spear, 92, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, April 29, 2023 with family by her side.

Born in Whitley County, Indiana on June 19, 1930. Rosalee was the daughter of Byron and Fay Irene (Sticker) Bauman. She graduated from high school in South Whitley and then went on to attend Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She received her bachelor degree with a double major in English education and music.

She loved her family deeply. She enjoyed the traditional homemaker roles. Rosalee was a talented musician, playing the piano and marimba. Even once playing at Soldier Field and many times at surrounding areas like the Art Institute.

Rosalee loved working in the yard, doing landscaping and caring for her flowers. She was an excellent baker and cook. She was an avid bridge player, playing at Lake Tippecanoe Country Club and at Grace Village.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Curt) of Culver, and four grandchildren: Grant Schultz of Chicago, IL, Kyle Schultz of Vaparasio, Jenna (Eric) DeFord of Warsaw, and Sara (Steve) Hollar of Leesburg; and 4 great-grandchildren: Braxton and Zach DeFord and Khloe and Logan Hollar.

Rosalee was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jeff Spear.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
