Ronald 'Ronnie' Wayne Sams

Ronald 'Ronnie' Wayne Sams, 70, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 12/5/2010 at 7:55 pm at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 7, 1940 in Kingsport, Tennessee. Ronnie was born to Marcelle and Lillian (Stata) Sams. He was a former resident of Kentucky, South Carolina, Bedford, Indiana, and Mays, Indiana. He married Dee Ann Lowe who survives. Ronnie served as Senior Pastor for churches in Kentucky, South Carolina, Dive Christian Church of Bedford, Indiana, Center Christian Church of Mays, Indiana and most recently for 20 years at the First Christian Church of Warsaw, Indiana. Furthermore, he was active with the Cerebral Palsy Association and Optimist International. He graduated from Dobyns Bennet High School in Kingsport, Tennessee in 1958. In 1962, he received his Bachelor's Degree from Johnson Bible College of Knoxville, Tennessee and did further graduate work at Anderson University School of Theology in Anderson, Indiana. Ronnie is survived by his loving family including his wife Dee Ann Sams of Warsaw, Indiana; one son Marcelle (and spouse Mindy) Sams of Greens Fork, Indiana; onedaughter Patti Sams of Mascot, Tennessee; two grandchildren Austin and Miranda Sams of Greens Ford, Indiana; parents Marcelle and Lillian Sams of Johnson City, Tennessee; two brothers Douglas (and spouse Shelby) Sams of Kingsport, Tennessee and Phillip (and spouse Sarah) Sams of Kingsport, Tennessee.In addition, several nieces and nephews survive. Jim Ketchen and Gary Boschain will officiate the services Services will be held at Kingsport First Christian Church, Kingsport, Tennessee on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
