Roger L. Bower, age 88, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 5:32 PM in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, Indiana. Roger was born June 01, 1932 in Plymouth, Indiana to Brook and Pearl (Seybold) Bower. He was united in marriage to Jane Ann (Schipper) Bower on December 20, 1959 in Plymouth, Indiana who passed away June 20, 2017. He was a resident of Warsaw for 56 years and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw. Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1955 GMM3 (Gunners Mate Missiles) on the USS Rockbridge (Attack Transport) during the Korean Conflict. After graduating from high school, he continued his education at Ball State Teachers College from 1956 to 1960 obtaining his B.A. degree in Education and in 1966 obtained his master’s degree. Roger was a high school teacher at Warsaw Community Schools retiring in 1992 with 32 years of service. Roger is survived daughter, Beth (Karl) Keller, Valparaiso; son, Mark Bower Ph.D. and his wife Regina Bower M.D., Fort Collins, Colorado; four granddaughters, Abigail (Jordan) Garber, Indianapolis, Rachel Keller, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Brooke Bower, Fort Collins, Colorado, Daphne Bower, Fort Collins, Colorado and several nephews, nieces, and extended family members. He is preceded in death by wife, Jane Bower. A Private funeral service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw with Pastor Martin Keller officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with military honors rendered by Warsaw American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post 1126.
