Roger E. Byrer

Roger E. “Freight-train” Byrer, age 62, of Claypool, IN passed away June 3, 2011 at 7:55 pm in the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home of Fort Wayne, IN. He was born February 25, 1949 in Elkhart, IN to William and Phyllis (Schlemmer) Byrer. Roger was a lifetime Kosciusko County, IN resident.On July 13, 1976 he was united in marriage to Betty (Warner) Byrer. He was a professional Truck Driver of 44 years and most recently employed by D.R. Smith Trucking of Akron, IN. Survivors include his wife Betty Bryer of Claypool, IN; son Ted Bryer of Westfield, IN; daughter Jenny Gardner of Helena, AL; step-sons Danny Warner and Glen Patrick both of Claypool, IN; step-daughters Rhonda Banghart and Charlotte Campbell both of Claypool, IN; sisters Darla Frederick, Deb Smith and Carma Page and brother Dan Byrer. 6 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded by his parents. Services will be at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 12:00 pm. Calling is scheduled for one hour prior to the service.Pastor Steve Richardson will officiate the services. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool, IN.
