Obituary

Rodney A. Chiddister, 64, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Parkview North Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born in Columbia City, Indiana on September 9, 1961, Rodney was the son of Jimmy Ray and Janet C. (Howard) Chiddister. He graduated from Wawasee High School.

Rodney served in the U.S. Navy in Beirut-Lebanon on the U.S.S. Richmond K. Turner. He was Honorably Discharged in 1984. He was proud to receive the Threads of Valor Quilt in 2022, that was made by the Liberty Sewing Circle through the Kosciusko Community Senior Center.

He worked for many years as a laborer for Zimmer in Warsaw until his health declined.

Rodney enjoyed motorcycle rides and loved singing karaoke. He loved being in the water, swimming or boating, and was an avid scuba diver.

He is survived by his aunt, Sue Howard, and many friends and military friends.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father and on November 24, 2025, his mother.

A graveside service will be held on Friday June 26, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, 421 N. Maple Ave, Warsaw, with Military Honors and Pastor Larry Burkhart officiating.
