Rodney A. Carey

Rodney A. Carey, 64 of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away at 4:45 pm, Sunday, March 4, 2012 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. On January 4, 1948, Rodney was born in Warsaw to Rex and Millicent (Long) Carey. He married Phyllis Ihnen on November 2, 1979 in Warsaw. He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw and was employed by Zimmer Inc., Warsaw. He enjoyed fishing, guns and four wheeling. Rodney is survived by his wife, Phyllis Carey, Warsaw; a son, Allen Carey, Warsaw. Three daughters, Angela (Carey) Ogan, Warsaw; Beth Carey, Bourbon and Jacque Hirshey, Bourbon. Five brothers, Jim Carey, Fort Wayne; Walter Stafford, Warsaw; Forrest Vining, Silver Lake; Bob Clemons, Michigan and Doyle Hatfield, South Bend. Five Sisters, Glenda Holbrook, Warsaw; Linda Cramer, Warsaw; Rosetta Stout, Warsaw; Virginia “Ginny” Schuh, Warsaw and Sue Fairbanks, Michigan. 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 9, 2012 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Doug Lemon officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the funeral chapel.
