Robert R. Pittenger

Robert R. Pittenger, age 62 of Warsaw passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 2:05 AM in VA Northern Indiana Health Care Systems Fort Wayne Campus. On December 18, 1949 in Glasgow, Montana he was born to Carl and Margaret (Bayliss) Pittenger. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He married Cheryl Bowers on April 1, 1983 in Bremen, Indiana. He was a Union Carpenter, building Schools, Post Offices and many different commercial buildings. Robert is survived by his wife Cheryl Pittenger of Warsaw; his children Alissha (and spouse Eli) Shepherd of Warsaw, Joshua Pittenger of Fort Wayne, Carmella (and spouse Mike) Harnishfeger of Lindenhurst, Illinois, Rebecca (and spouse Brett) Newstorm of Gurnee, Illinois and Karl (and spouse Maggie) DeMunda of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother. Robert enjoyed building furniture and bird houses. There will a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with Military Honors by the Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Indiana ARNG Military Detail on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Veterans Circle Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.No calling is planned.Pastor Rob Harrison (Good Shepherd Church, Winona Lake) will officiate the service.
