Robert “Jon” Shoemaker

Robert “Jon” Shoemaker, age 86, of Larwill, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 8:30 PM at his daughters residence. Jon was born on February 3, 1933 in Claypool, Indiana to Robert and Willodean (Rager) Shoemaker. He was united in marriage to Patricia Louise Lemler on December 8, 1951 in Bourbon, Indiana. He graduated from Claypool High School. During his lifetime he was a professional truck driver for many companies with a total of 60 years of service. Jon enjoyed being on The Road and he was especially fond of his Little Buddy, “Gomer”. Gomer went everywhere with him. Jon is survived by his children, Kim Shoemaker, Debra (Jim) Kibby, James (Lisa) Shoemaker, Robert (Darnell) Shoemaker, Jon (Jami) Shoemaker; sister, Alinda Ann Skea of Warsaw. In addition, he is survived by, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Lemler) Shoemaker; and son, Brian Shoemaker. Services will be private. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon, IN.
