Robert J. Williams, age 79, passed away peacefully April 27th, 2012 in Key Largo, FL.Bob was born October 4, 1932 in Anderson, IN to Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Cooper) Williams. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Nancy Cox Williams, his children Carlye (Baenen), Brad and Ross, his grandchildren Ben and Ann Baenen and Lauren Williams, and his sisters Betsy MacLennan and Barbara Wicker. He was an Indiana University graduate and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, the Well House Society, Varsity Club at IU and ROTC, and a lifetime member of the Alumni Association. After graduation, he served his country as a first lieutenant in the Air Force serving aboard a KC-135 Tanker Aircraft as a Boom Operator. Bob was highly successful in business, serving as President of DePuy Orthopedics, a JJ company, headquartered in Warsaw, IN and as Chairman of Artec Environmental; a medical gas testing company in Indianapolis. He was also on the board of Ashe Medical and a member of the American Business Club. He was a very outgoing person and was the past President of Tippecanoe Country Club. Also, he was a member of the Warsaw Masonic Lodge, Fort Wayne Valley Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine. In addition he was a member of the Columbia Club of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Motorcycle Drill Team. After retirement, he and Nancy split their time between Warsaw and Key Largo, FL where they belonged to the Ocean Reef Club since 1992. In addition to being members of the Health and Tennis Club, Yacht Club and the Flying Club at Ocean Reef, Bob served on several committees to improve the quality of life at the club. Bob was a man of generous spirit who lived life to the full and was a friend to many. A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 10th from 4 to 7pm at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw, IN.. His service will be conducted on Friday, May 11th at the First United Methodist Church in Warsaw Indiana at 1:00 PM.
