Robert Joseph Grundish 73, of Warsaw, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord, September 30, 2014. He passed away peacefully in his home after an extended illness. Robert “Bob” was born in Wayne, Michigan on May 10, 1941 to Floyd and Mary (Easterly) Grundish. He was the oldest of four children. Bob was preceded in death by both parents, his brother, Bill and his grandson Jacob Allen Day. Surviving siblings include Suzie (Kevin) Studer of Edgerton, Ohio and Julie (Percy )Loftus of Dry Prong, Louisiana. Bob was a 1959 graduate of Edgerton High School in Edgerton, Ohio and was a starting member of the 1959 State Champion Basketball Team. He earned many athletic honors. First-Team All Ohio Tourney, Co-Most Valuable Player, Judged Most Outstanding Player in Ohio Tournament Basketball, and he was chosen as an “All America Player” to play in the Regional 'East versus West' All Star Basketball Game in Kansas. Bob attended Ohio Northern University and Defiance College after High School. He enjoyed all sports, throughout his life. First, as an active participant, and in later years, as an avid fan. He married the love of his life Sheila (Michael) Grundish 54 years ago and she survives. Bob was a proud father to his three daughters, Michelle (Bob) Day, Edgerton, Jacqueline (Bill) Barr, Warsaw, Indiana, and Terri (Henry) Kotula Edgerton/New Smyrna Beach, Fl He was very proud of his five grandchildren. Jordan (Heather) Day, Bethany (Ross) Hessel, Brittany Barr, Joshua Day, and Caleb Day. He loved his four great-grandchildren. Bob enjoyed coaching pony league baseball in Edgerton for many years. He also enjoyed his role as high school Sunday school teacher at Trinity Church in Edgerton, Ohio. Bob enjoyed a career in sales for over 40 years. Most notably he was a sales rep for Shaw Industries for many years. His family will miss him but know, through their faith; they will see him again one day! Bob's testimony to his faith can be found in Acts 20:24 “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace.” In Lieu of flowers, Bob and his family request a donation to Hospice of Kosciusko County, Warsaw, Indiana. At Bob's request, the family will have a grave-side service in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio on October 11th, 2014 at 11 A.M., which will be open to family and friends who would like to honor Bob's memory. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is assisting the family with the arrangement.
