Robert G. Alexander, age 85, of Warsaw, IN passed away May 8, 2011 at 9:52 pm in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana from Pneumonia and complications. He was born on April 15, 1926 in Wabash County Hospital to Myrl and Violet (Colbert) Alexander, Silver Lake. In later years, they lived in Claypool. He graduated from Claypool High School and Warner Beauty College, Fort Wayne. He was a Hair Stylist. He had his shop in the King Cole Building in Indianapolis for years. he was a very active member at Broadway Street Methodist Church, Indianapolis. He belonged to the Masonic Temple, Indianapolis and was a 50 year member of the Mason's. He moved to Warsaw in 2009, where he lived in an apartment at Retired Tigers so he could be closer to his brothers. Upon moving to Warsaw, he attended First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. He is survived by two brothers, Tom Alexander, Milford and John S. (and spouse Mazie) Alexander, Warsaw. three nephews, Larry Poyser, Warsaw; Mark Alexander, Warsaw and Ryan Niles, Rocky Point, North Carolina; five nieces, Jada (and spouse Scott) Sackschewsky, Fort Wayne; Lynn Colburn, Etna Green; Joyce Alexander, Claypool; Shawn Bohnstedt, Milford and Diane (and spouse Alexander) Puterbaugh, Akron. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Howard Alexander and a sister, Alice Beth Alexander. Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2011 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm, Friday, May 13, 2011 at the funeral chapel. Pastor Toni Carmer will be officiating the service. Burial will be at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the donor's choice.
