Robert Eugene “Bob” Olinger

Robert Eugene “Bob” Olinger, 94 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away after patiently waiting for God to call him and his wife home, January 2, 2017 at 6:40 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana, three weeks following Betty, his wife of 71 years. He was comforted by his family and friends not leaving his side. He was born on November 19, 1922 to Chester and Ethel (Pontius) Olinger in Wabash County Indiana. On May 5, 1945 he married Betty Alice (Krichbaum) Olinger in Warsaw, Indiana. Betty passed away on December 12, 2016. He attended Claypool United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, Indiana. Bob was a proud Nipsco employee and retired after 40 years. He then delivered trailers for Franklin Coach Company in Nappanee for 25 years with his cohort Ted Heaton. He grew up in North Manchester and later moved to Warsaw. Bob is survived by his brothers, Clifford, Donald, Ronald and Kenneth Olinger, and many nieces and nephews including Linda and Waldo Leimer and Nancy and Joe Bieber both of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Olinger, a daughter, Lynne Olinger. Brothers, Joe, Hirschal, Ruppert, Homer and Loris and sisters, Delores, Dorothy and Cleo. A funeral service will be held Friday January 6, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Grace Village Chaplain Bryan Benjamin and Pastor Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation will be also on Friday January 6, 2017 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
