Robert E. Phend

Robert E. Phend, 83 of South Whitley, passed away at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in his residence. On December 13, 1929, he was born in Columbia City, Indiana to Paul and Marie (Wysong) Phend. He married Marjorie Johnson on July 11, 1953, who survives. Robert retired from International Harvester/Navistar in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is also survived by four children, Norma Schweigel, Columbia City; Michael E. (and wife Sharon) Phend, Pierceton; Rebecca A. Phend, South Whitley; Rose E. Phend, South Whitley; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation hours will be from 3:00 - 6:00 pm Saturday, November 17, 2012 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. There are no services planned and burial will be at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2869 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825.
