Robert Daniel Fisher, 85, of 31 EMS C28E1 Lane Warsaw, Indiana, died on 12/12/2009 at 1:04 pm at Florida Hospital-Heartland Sebring, Florida. He was born on June 24, 1924 in Huntington, Indiana. Robert was born to Leland and Nancy (Wall) Fisher. He married Jean (Inez) Arlene Rittenhouse on August 29, 1946 in New Albany, Indiana, she is surviving. He served in the Army during World War II as a cook and a medic. He received two purple hearts. He was a farmer and a railroader for the Erie, Erie Lackawanna, Penn Central and ConRail railroads. He was also an avid fisherman on Chapman Lake. After retiring from ConRail, he founded Rocking R Hobby Horse and built them for over 30 years.He is also survived by his children;Roberta Fisher Sims, South Whitley, IndianaJudy Ann (Bobby) Stevens, Warsaw, IndianaRobert Emerson (Kay) Fisher, Saint Cloud, FloridaJoseph Dale Fisher, Warsaw, Indiana11 grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother,1 infant son, Richard Allen and 1 son-in-law, Willis (Bill) James Sims Jr. Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 10:00 am with Pastor Gale Janofski. Calling hours will be 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, Indiana. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
