Richard Theodore Groomes

Richard T. Groomes, 65 of Claypool, Indiana passed away at 4:45 pm Saturday, January 9, 2016 in his residence.   On November 16, 1950, he was born to Theodore and Elaine (Cavanaugh) Groomes. He lived in Bay City, Michigan for thirty years before moving to Kosciusko County, Indiana twenty one years ago. He retired from sales in the carpet industry, where he served for forty years. Richard was a member of the Mentone Lions Club and he loved to play golf and spend time on Yellow Creek Lake.   He is survived by his longtime partner of fourteen years, Kim Enyeart and her niece Sarah; three children, Chris Groomes, Ashley Groomes and Stephanie Groomes and their spousal companions; four grandchildren, Danielle Groomes - Jordy, Ariana Groomes, Korben Westness, Garren Westness and one great grandchild, Mason Jordy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Groomes.   A celebration of life gathering will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Yellow Creek Lake, 8608 Nellie Blvd., Claypool, Indiana  46510.   Memorial contributions may be made to Lions Club, P.O.
