Richard E. Nancy Hays

Richard E. Hays, age 87, of Warsaw, passed away on January 20, 2021 in Miller’s Merry Manor. Richard was born May 26, 1933 in Joplin, Mo. He was united in marriage to Nancy (Martin) Hays in 1957. Nancy Hays, age 81, passed away on November 20, 2020, also in Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born November 8, 1938 in Michigan. Richard and Nancy are survived by their daughter, Becky (Dan) Brodhead of Warsaw; son Doug Hays, of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren Ben Brodhead, Charleston, NC., Jake Brodhead, Acworth, GA., great grandchildren Charlotte Brodhead, and Judah and Asher Brodhead. Richard retired from Coast to Coast Hardware as a District Manager. He was an avid baseball fan, fisherman, and reader. Nancy enjoyed crafts, reading and was very artistic. She was a faithful member of the YMCA for over thirty years. She earned numerous awards as a senior powerlifter. Richard and Nancy were extremely influential in the lives of their grandsons. They faithfully attended school and sporting events, including hundreds of rounds of golf. There will be no services, and interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, IN.  McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw have been entrusted with arrangements for the family of Mr. and Mrs. Hays. Memorial donations may be made to Animal Welfare League, 1048 S. Pierceton, IN. Parkview YMCA, 1305 Marinars Dr. Warsaw.
