Richard A. Allen

Richard A. Allen, 84 died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. in his residence. He was born March 16, 1930 in Leesburg, IN to Herman and Helen (Yeager) Allen. He married Juanita B. Miller on June 12, 1949. He grew up in Detroit, MI, until 1946 when his family moved to Leesburg. He was a graduate of Leesburg High School and he worked at Dalton Corporation as a Pre-Production Engineer for 34 years. He was active as a troop leader with the Oswego Boy Scouts for many years and was awarded the Silver Beaver Distinguished Service to Youth award from Anthony Wayne Area Council of Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of the Leesburg Lions Club and a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Allen, Leesburg; a son, Steven Allen, Noblesville, IN; a daughter, Beth (and spouse Todd) Hofmann, Leesburg; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a brother, Robert Allen, Leesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Max Allen. Visitation will be on Thursday, October, 30, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Seewald officiating. Interment will be in Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, IN.
