R. Christine 'Chris' Pratt

R. Christine “Chris” (McArtor) Pratt passed away March 21, 2011 at 4:20 am in Miller's Merry Manor of Warsaw, Indiana. Chris was born January 18, 1915, in Salem, Ohio, to Willis and Sarah J. (Hutcheson) McArtor. Formerly of Momence, Illinois, she was an area resident since 1942. On June 7, 1932, she united in marraige to Ed Pratt in Momence, Illinois. Ed preceded her on December 19, 2000. She was employed by the Warsaw Community School System as an Adult Education Teacher for 29 years. She was a member of The Church Good Shepherd of Winona Lake where she was also an ordained Deaconess. Other social affiliations include: a former Blood Bank Volunteer for the American Red Cross, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, a member of the Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revoluation, the Winona Lake Literary Society, former member Delta Theta Tau Sorority and she was the recipient of the Republican Hall of Fame Award from the Kosciusko County Republican Party. Chris is survived by a daughter Nannette (spouse Bill Newland of Warsaw, Indiana; sons Joel (spouse Teresa) Pratt of Biltmore, North Carolina; and Steven (spouse Bernice) Pratt of Denver, Colorado. In addition, sisters Harriet Jackson of Salem, Ohio; Lois Irons of Columblana, Ohio; and Marjorie Herder of West Hill, California, survive her. She has 4 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw, Indiana. The service will be officiated by Pastor Rob Harrison of The Church of Good Shepherd of Winona Lake. Calling hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
