Peggy Ann Gerkin

Peggy Ann Gerkin, 79, of Leesburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Goshen Hospital.

Peggy was born on January 2, 1944, in Warsaw, she was the daughter of Byron and Virginia (Bolt) Linn. She was united in marriage to Thomas E. “TomEG” Gerkin on April 19, 1974, in Chicago.

She was a graduate of Warsaw Community High School class of ‘62 and continued on to IU for 2 years.

She worked for United Telephone Service (Sprint) in human resources, a receptionist at Zimmer, and was a Drop Coordinator for RL Gilberts Utility Contractor. Peggy loved hanging out with her friends as they called themselves “Water Lilies”, enjoyed taking care of her cats and every cat that came around, she also enjoyed her times at Marco Island, FL. She was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her sister Nancy (Ronald) Dirck of Warsaw ; nephews Troy (Jo) Dirck of Warsaw, Sheal Dirck of Warsaw, and Kris (Amy) Dirck of the Philippines, a sister-in-law Doris Heisler of Warsaw, numerous cousins, lots of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, and Cody the cat, as well as all other cats that Peggy tended to. She was preceded in passing by her parents, her husband Thomas who proceeded her on July 22, 2008, and a nephew Steve Dirck.

A visitation with family and friends will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Ct. Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Peggy’s life will begin at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in the funeral chapel with Pastor Matthew Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, North Webster.
