Paul Popenfoose

Paul D. Popenfoose, 87 of Leesburg passed away at 3:10 AM, Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. On February 19, 1928 he was born in Oswego, Indiana to Dallys and Gladys (Dausman) Popenfoose. He was united in marriage in Warsaw, Indiana on July 25, 1981 to Clara (Carroll) Popenfoose who survives.A graduate of North Webster High School, he worked at Dalton Foundries 37 years retiring in 1993. He survived by his wife Clara, his daughters Paula Edwards, Leesburg, Christine (and spouse Doug) Shenefield, Leesburg, Julie Shaw, Leesburg, sons Kenneth (and spouse Ann) Popenfoose, Warsaw, Melvin (and spouse Dixie) Shaw, Warsaw, David (and spouse Eva) Shaw, Melbourne, Florida, his brothers Gary (and spouse Barbara) Popenfoose, Leesburg, Samuel (and spouse Ann) Popenfoose of Warsaw and sister Linda Taylor, Warsaw, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Dallys and Gladys, a sister Juanita, sons Lenny, Larry and Michael, son-in-law Robert, brother-in-law Ron and grandson James. Visitation will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Maureen Mauzy officiating, burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Fund in care of K21 Foundation at P.O. Box 1810, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1810.
