Oris Newsome

Oris M. Newsome, 85, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Miller’s Merry Manor. Prior to her short stay, she lived in her home in Claypool.

Oris was born in Drift, Kentucky on June 12, 1939 to James and Elvy (Younts) Hull.

She married Noah Newsome on July 18, 1955. The couple would move to Kosciusko County in 1966, and welcome a son, Noah.

Oris was a loving wife and devoted her life to taking care of her son, Noah, after an accident left him wheelchair bound. She attended Highway 13 Free United Baptist Church.

Oris is survived by her son, Noah Newsome of Claypool.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 2007.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ward “Etsie” Allen officiating.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
