Obituary

Norma J. “Momma J” Lemaster, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

A Celebration of Norma’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 3-6 p.m. at Center Lake, 117 E. Canal Street, Warsaw. A Balloon Release will happen at 5:30 p.m.

Born in Springfield, Ohio on November 7, 1974, Norma was daughter of Thurman Brown and Nella and Steve Collins. She was raised in Warsaw, Indiana where she built many of the memories and friendships that shaped her life. Growing up, she was an active member of The Baker Youth Club, a place that helped nurture her outgoing spirit and love for community.

Norma was a proud fan of the Pittsburg Steelers, cheering them on with the same passion she brought to everything she loved. She had a unique style all her own and enjoyed collecting anything adorned with skulls- a reflection of her bold personality and the way she embraced life with authenticity.

Some of her happiest moments were spent simply being with the people she loved. Whether she was relaxing on the front porch, spending time at Center Lake, or listening to karaoke at Rex’s and the DJ at Timeout, Norma found joy in being surrounded by friends and family. One of her favorite memories was playing in the rain with her best friend-laughing, carefree and full of life, just two kids again. The small joyful moments were the ones she cherished most.

Norma is survived by her mother, Nella Collins of Warsaw. She leaves behind her children, who were her greatest pride: Latasha Rouch of Nappanee, Brittany Hall of Springfield, OH, Steven (Makaila) Brown of Warsaw, and Stephan Howard of Warsaw. She was a loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless joy.

She is also survived by her sisters, Billie Jo Geren of Warsaw and Mary Young of Springfield, OH. Norma was an aunt to 8 nieces and nephews and 8 great-nieces and nephews. She is further remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.

Norma was preceded in death by her granddaughter; both of her fathers, Steve Collins and Thurman Brown; a sister; many aunts and uncles; and her best friend, all of whom she now joins in eternal rest.

Norma’s laughter, strength and love will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the stories, smiles and moments she left behind.

“Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the memories we keep and the love we carry forward.”
