Neva Irene Akers

Neva Irene Akers, 92 of Warsaw passed away April 30, 2018 at 2:55 PM in Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was born on August 1, 1925 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Edgar and Grace (Whitaker) Hannah. On October 28, 1942 in Paintsville, Kentucky she was united in marriage to Grundy Logan Akers who preceded her on May 10, 1993. She formerly worked for Gatke Corporation and Warsaw Coil. She was a member of the United Baptist Church in Silver Lake. She is survived by her children; Joyce Ann (Vern) Prater of Warsaw, Linda Lou (Rick) Cook of North Webster, Hazel Akers of Warsaw and James Henry (Barb) Akers of Warsaw. She is further survived by 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, sons; William Logan and Jerry Dale along with granddaughters Elizabeth Prater and Cheryl Blair and great-grandchildren Christopher Jefferson and Callie Akers. Visitation will be held in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton with Pastor William Whitaker officiating.
