Nancy Brown

Nancy Brown age 55, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday April 12, 2012 at 3:27 pm at IU / Goshen Hospital, Goshen IN. On February 5th, 1957 Nancy was born to Hugh Edward and Catherine Mae Ressler in Rochester, IN. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County residing in Warsaw. On June 16, 1979 she married Curt Brown in Warsaw, he survives. Nancy enjoyed being a member of the community and was involved in many activities. Nancy was known as one of the first team members of the Women’s Rugby Team at Purdue University, was past President of the Tri Kappa, member of the Kosciusko Human Resource Association, Kosciusko County Leadership Academy, Rozella Ford Golf Club where she was a champion player and a member of the “Ladies 9 Hole Club”. After Graduation from Warsaw Community High School, Nancy achieved a MBA from the University of Saint Francis, BS from Purdue University, and a Teacher’s Certificate from Goshen College. Nancy attended Warsaw Community Church with her family where she enjoyed numerous bible studies, along with teaching students in the Son Light Children’s Ministries.Nancy enjoyed her years of employment at Ivy tech as Program Chairman for School of Business. She also had worked in the Engineering Department of United Telephone Company here in Warsaw. Her achievements at Ivy Tech were of many; Chairperson for United Way campaign, Chairperson for the charitable annual Golf 101 outing; instrumental in starting of the BAAG Group; brought the VITA group to campus to assist people with taxes; Scholarship Committee; and a Charter Member of WWW.Nancy is survived by her husband Curt, and a daughter, Amanda of Chicago; a son William of Warsaw; her father and mother, Hugh and Cathy of Warsaw; brothers Dave (Spouse Becky) of Houston, TX and Terry of Fortville, IN. Funeral services for Nancy will be held at Tuesday April 17th, 2012 at 10:00am at Warsaw Community Church, Warsaw. Visitation will be on Monday April 16th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at the McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw. Pastor Denny Wilson will be officiating the service. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw. Family has asked for memorials to be made out to the Goshen Cancer Center, IU / Goshen Hospital, 200 High Park Ave., Goshen, IN 46562.
