On Sunday February 28, 2021, Nalli Suvarna Rao, loving husband, and father of three children, passed away at the age of 82. Suvarna was born on May 7, 1938 in Nuzvid, Andhra Pradesh, India. He earned bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Education from the University of Andhra Pradesh. After graduation, he worked for the administrative arm of the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for 20 years before moving to the United States. On June 7, 1967, he married Beulah Rogers. They were blessed with three children, Jyothi, Teja and Havilah. They moved from India to Warsaw, IN in March 1980 to provide better education for their children and to be closer to family. Suvarna was a very hard worker and retired at the age of 80 after completing 38 years at Owen’s Supermarket. He loved gardening and had a bounty of fresh vegetables each summer. He enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his nine grandchildren. He placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and was a faithful member of Open Bible Baptist Church in Barbee Lake, Indiana. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, loving attitude and devotion to his wife, family, and friends. Suvarna was preceded in death by his father, Nalli Subramanyam, mother Aliceamma, brother Nalli Bhasker Rao, sister-in-law Evangeline Nalli Rao and niece Sudha Nalli Rao. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beulah S. Rao, his three children, Jyothi (Trent) Weaver, Teja (Beulah Elizabeth) Rao, Havilah (Trent) Yoby, his nine grandchildren, Caleb, Moriah, Nathan, Leah, Hannah (Weaver), Grace, Matthew (Rao), and Andrew, Ethan (Yoby). He is also survived by his three brothers, Shubhaker (Hannah) Rao, Nalli Krupaker Rao and Nalli Prabhaker (Ratna Kumari) Rao. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately at Noon at the funeral chapel. Pastor Sam Carns will be officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required. The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
