Mona Lynn Shepherd

Mona Lynn Shepherd, age 68, of Silver Lake, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 1:15 a.m. in her residence. Mona was born August 1, 1952 in Wabash, Indiana to Cleon Dean and Iris Virginia (Blackwell) Overmyer. She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Shepherd on August 1, 1992 in Warsaw, Indiana. She was Manchester High School Class of 1970 graduate and in 1974 was Graduate of Manchester College with Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Education. During her career in the medical field, she was an Aid in Physical, Occupational and Cardiac Exercise Rehabilitation Therapies for Kosciusko Community Hospital and was a Secondary instructor at Ivy Tech teaching Introduction to Medical Careers. Mona was member of Akron United Methodist Church where she served as Pianist and Choir Director. She was famous for sending humorous cards to church members on their birthdays. She had the knack of picking the perfect Christmas ornaments as gifts for Christmas and loved to decorate for the holidays. Mona is survived by husband, Richard Shepherd, of Silver Lake, children Adam (Jen) Noffsinger of Elkhart, Tina (Chris) Kingston of East Longmeadow, MA and Rick Shepherd of Warsaw. Furthermore, brothers Mike (Peggy) Overmyer of Bloomington and Mitch (Kendal) Overmyer of Fort Wayne and 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren survive. A visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, February 28, 2021 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Eaton officiating in the Funeral Chapel. Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required.  The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
