Michael Kermit Tacker, 68, of Pierceton, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born on April 2, 1957 in Peru, Indiana, Michael was the son of Paul Kermit and Mona Jo (Herrell) Tacker. Michael Joined the Marines in 1975 and became Corporal. He loved being a Marine and made sure everyone new he was a “Jar Head”. He always delighted in conversations with all who would listen to stories about his Marine days. Michael was a member of the North Webster American Legion Post #253.
On January 13, 1978, he took his beautiful bride Laura Lee Harmon and together they shared 49 years of raising 2 children and sharing many wonderful moments together. Michael was a hard worker and dedicated to his work as a supervisor at Rubber Industries as he was there many years. He also worked at Tranter Graphics for 21 years.
Michael was a huge Bobby Knight fan and enjoyed cheering for every game of IU basketball. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and just being apart of the peace nature brought. He also enjoyed reading, whether it be the paper or a good book.
Michael is survived by his wife Laura Lee, his son Paul J. (Betsy) Tacker of Fort Wayne, daughter, April S. Harmon of Pierceton and several grandchildren. Also surviving is his beloved baby Pitbull “Poppy”.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Pierceton, Indiana on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 4-7:00 pm for family and friends to share memories of Michael.
