Melba Kussmaul

Melba Kussmaul, age 76, of Warsaw, IN passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at 7:30 AM in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, IN. She was born February 10, 1935 in Whitley County to Andrew and Mary (Bryant) Brookover. She has lived in Kosciusko County since 1971. Melba married John Kussmaul on July 3, 1954 in Huntington, IN. Melba and John were the past owners of Jot-Em-Down Store (Barbee Lake) from 1971 to 2003. She was a member of the Salem Community Missionary Church. She was the president of the Women’s Circle at the church. Melba is survived by her two sons, John J. (and spouse Margaret) Kussmaul Jr. of Valparaiso, IN. and James J. Kussmaul of Warsaw, IN. Three daughters Mary (and spouse Roger) Kuhn of North Webster, IN; Joan (and spouse Bruce) Schumacher of Indianapolis, IN. and Jennifer Kussmaul of Warsaw, IN. One sister, Ola Mae Bergdall of Monticello, IN. Seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and 1 niece.She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Melba enjoyed gardening and her flowers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 10:00 AM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, WarsawVisitation will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw The Burial will be in Huntington Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
