IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mearman T.
Reece
May 15, 1945 – January 14, 2026
Mearman Theodore Reece, 80, passed away on January 14, 2026 at Lutheran of Kosciusko Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on May 15, 1945, Mearman was born to his loving parents, Woodrow Wilson and Hazel (Estes) Reece, in Richmond, Indiana. Mearman graduated from Triton High School in Bourbon, Indiana, in 1964.
He began a career in the mobile home industry, working for Comodore and Heckaman Homes from 1964 through 1985. He was a very devoted worker, lasting 21 years. He then changed jobs and began working for Biomet in 1985 as a polisher. He worked there for 24 ½ years until his retirement in 2010.
Mearman raised four boys and enjoyed teaching them how to be upstanding young men. He taught them value in longevity and pride in whatever they should do in adulthood.
In his spare time, Mearman enjoyed hunting, especially coon, which he loved most of all, and fishing. When he took time to be inside relaxing, you would most likely find him watching the San Francisco 49er’s, the Kansas City Chiefs, Yankees Baseball, and IU basketball and football, rarely missing a game.
He was most proud to be a father and grandfather and share in making memories with each and everyone.
Mearman is survived by his sons: Wilson of Dallas, TX, Calvin of Warsaw, IN, Jason of Smithfield, NC and Brian of Pierceton, IN, his grandchildren: Alexis, Devin, Peyton, Kaylee, Bella, Blake, Ethan, and Jacob, and his sisters: Carol Haines of Zionsville, IN and Loretta Torres of Fayette, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Joseph and Mark, and his sister Edith Spencer.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Mearman will be on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 3-5:00 pm at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
